'They deserve better!' - Newcastle United fans praised after Leicester City hammering

Newcastle United may have suffered a humiliating afternoon at the King Power Stadium, but their fans once again did themselves proud.

Steve Bruce's side were battered 5-0 by Leicester City in the Midlands. Ricardo Pereira fired the hosts ahead after just 16 minutes before the Magpies were reduced to 10 men after Isaac Hayden was shown a straight red card for a rash tackle on Dennis Praet.

United then suffered a total collapse in the second half with Jamie Vardy bagging a brace, Paul Dummett putting through his own net, and Wilfred Ndidi completing the scoring in closing stages.

The defeat is likely to bring plenty of criticism at the door of those inside the club, but the same can't be said for the club's fans.

Despite having to watch the hammering unfold in front of their own eyes, the Toon Army stayed loyal to the very end, singing and cheering their side on, with those on Twitter paying tribute to the continued impressive support.
