They'd like the world to buy a coke...

Whether it is the best soft drink in the world depends upon your tastes - and tastes seem to have moved on - but Coca Cola used to produce some TV's most memorable adverts. They seemed to lose that knack, but have they found it again?

My wife always says that she knows it is really Christmas when the "Holidays are coming, holidays are coming" ad appears on screen.

And that the New Seekers' song "I'd like to teach the world to sing" was actually a Coke ad first is one of those well known facts of internet folklore.

But then came the battles with Pepsi and the rival fizzy drink's penchant for stars (who have since lost their lustre) such as Michael Jackson and Britney Spears. Would this Jackson ad be made now?

And then the world discovered that there are far healthier drinks to drink.

But now Coke are back with an all-new campaign for world domination - featuring this ad with echoes of the Honda cog ad and to prove that they are still down with the kids, some viral ads.

Like McDonalds, Coca Cola still earns squillions, but its not the brand it once was. Are these the adverts to reverse its fortunes? Or is its image more to do with how the consumer views the product itself?

For the record, I prefer Diet Pepsi but I'm trying to live a healthier life
