'They are not called 'Dirty Leeds United' for nowt' Derby County fans slam FIFA fair play award

Derby County fans were left dumbfounded by FIFA's decision to give Leeds United their Fair Play award.

Marcelo Bielsa's men were honoured for letting Aston Villa score moments after his team had taken the lead in controversial circumstances at Elland Road in April.

With Leeds in dire need of a win, Bielsa let Villa level moments after Mateusz Klitch scored in the 72nd minute when Jonathan Kodija was down in a game where Leeds desperately need all three points in the hunt of automatic promotion.

The irony of the award will not be lost on Rams supporters and pundits after Bielsa admitted to spying on their training session ahead of facing the Rams.

Leeds were fined £200,000 with Bielsa conceding they had spied on every Championship team.

Here is what Derby fans have said about the award on Facebook and Twitter.

Dave Barlow: Is it April already?

Ian Hayes: And the fine for industrial spying has been conveniently forgotten? What are these people on, they are not called Dirty Leeds for nowt.....

Peter Wilkinson : Fake news surely

Denise Claxton : So an award for cheating in the first place. Sums up FIFA. A Complete and utter joke.

Michael Coyrams : Fair play for spying
