'They are in a difficult phase': Jonjoe Kenny makes Everton future admission

Everton's Jonjoe Kenny says he has heard nothing from his parent yet regarding his future beyond this summer, despite reports linking him with a permanent transfer to the Bundesliga.

There has also been the suggestion that the Scouser, currently on loan at Schalke, could come back to Goodison Park next season and make himself a part of Carlo Ancelotti's squad, having impressed this season at right-back.

Via Ruhr24, Kenny said: "We still have eight games to go. I’m just focusing on it right now. We’ll see what happens at the end of the season, but at the moment it’s only about Schalke and the next eight games.

"I have not heard so much from Everton, as they are in a difficult phase. They have other things to focus on.

"As I mentioned earlier, my personal opinion is that I can’t think too much about my future yet.

"Bigger things are happening. I also have to take care of myself and make sure that I’m doing the right things here at Schalke. We don’t just want to stage the next eight games, we want to win. At the moment I cannot make a clear statement about my future."

Kenny has made 27 appearances in all competitions so far this season for David Wagner's side, scoring one goal and assisting three.

His most recent outing saw Schalke lose their local derby match to Borussia Dortmund by a scoreline of four goals to nil, though they do sit in eighth place in the Bundesliga table and have had a decent season.
