These West Ham fans have a message for West Brom about their new manager Slaven Bilic

Former West Ham boss Slaven Bilic is back in English football after being appointed as the new manager of West Bromwich Albion.

The 50-year-old, who spent two years as West Ham boss between 2015 and 2017 and guided the Hammers to seventh and 11th in his time in charge, has now been appointed as the new Baggies manager on a two-year deal.

It is a return to English football for the former West Ham and Everton defender, who has spent time working in the Saudi Professional League with Al-Ittihad since leaving the Hammers in 2017.

And Bilic, who has also managed his home country Croatia, along with spells at Hajduk Split, Lokomotiv Moscow and Besiktas, said he is delighted to be back in the English game as he looks to try and guide the Baggies back into the Premier League.

Speaking to West Brom's club website , he said: "We want to improve, we want to improve on the pitch and Albion have convinced me they want to return to the Premier League. Albion have a short term project and a long project and they do not clash.

"They wanted me to lead them, to help improve them. They made it clear they wanted me to be the one to lead them in this and I didn't think twice once they had spoken to me."

And West Ham fans have been having their say this afternoon (Thursday) after the former Hammers boss was confirmed as the new manager at The Hawthorns.

There has been a mixed response though, with some fans pleased to see Bilic back in England, while others have sent a warning to West Brom about how his time at West Ham ended.

Here's what they have had to say on social media.
