These two photos of Ilkley Moor fire taken just ONE HOUR apart show how quickly blaze spread

As the fire on Ilkley Moor rages on, two pictures have emerged which show how quickly the wildlife spread in the space of just an hour on Saturday evening.

Fire crews from across Yorkshire were dispatched to two separate fires on Ilkley Moor on Saturday, April 21 - one in the White Wells area near the Cow and Calf, and another near Dick Hudsons Pub, Bingley.

Walkers were quickly hurried off the popular tourist spot as smoke and flames licked the skyline, leading to plenty of concern from those living nearby.

Adam Taylor, who lives overlooking the Ilkley Moor, was watching the progress of the fire - and these two pictures taken just an hour part at 5pm and 6pm show the devastating effect of the blaze as it ripped through one of Yorkshire's most beautiful scenes.

Firefighters continued to battle the fire throughout Saturday night and into Easter Sunday.

Four crews were stood down at around 11pm on Saturday night, but a full cordon is in place around the boundaries of the moor as fears persist that Easter Sunday's scorching temperatures could spark more damage.
