These towns are the hottest places in Edinburgh, the Lothians and Fife today – where does yours rank?

It's been another day of fantastic weather across Edinburgh, the Lothians and Fife – and it looks set to continue for the rest of the afternoon.

Temperatures are forecast to remain in the high teens and early twenties for hours yet, which is perfect news for those who have made some outdoor plans after work.

But what will the temperatures be where you are, and which towns will be enjoying the warmest weather for the rest of the day?

There might not be much in it, but we're treating every single degree with the utmost respect.

So, according to the Met Office, the warmest places in Edinburgh, the Lothians and Fife this afternoon will be Musselburgh, Dalkeith, Bo'ness, St Andrews and Dunfermline all on 21 degrees.

On 20 degrees will be West Lothian towns Livingston and Bathgate along with Edinburgh, parts of the city centre and Bonnyrigg.

Then, on 19 degrees are Haddington, Loanhead and Penicuik while North Berwick and Dunbar will be cooler yet on 18 degrees – still firmly in taps aff territory though.

Things are expected to be quite different, but still pleasant, on parts of the coast in the east of Fife with temperatures of around 14 degrees in Anstruther and Pittenweem.

We reported last week that the Edinburgh area was in for a mini heatwave for much of the week, with warm temperatures set to last until Friday.

A wildfire warning was also put in place by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service yesterday due to the conditions.
