Roads will be shut in the Quayside areas of Newcastle and Gateshead on Saturday as a series of duathlon events are being staged.
The Try on the Tyne events are expected to draw , who will be running and cycling by the banks of the Tyne.
Roads in the area will be shut from 7am on Saturday.
The organisers say they have worked with both Newcastle's and Gateshead's councils to keep disruption to a minimum.
Diversions will be in place on bus routes.
