These retro Glasgow bus stop signs for sale will fill you with 80s and 90s nostalgia

Back in November, an old TV advert showing the Glasgow Subway in action - to the tune of an incredibly catchy jingle - suddenly popped up out the blue again and provided the ultimate nostalgia trip for Glaswegians of a certain age.

While an old photo we stumbled upon of an old display advertising 'Glasgow City of Culture' on Argyle Street from March 1990 prompted us to dig into the archives to discover what other signs we could find that would have folk reminiscing about times past.

And now we can add a new one to the list of signs that bring back floods of memories in the form of some replica retro Strathclyde Passenger Transport bus stop signs that have gone up for sale on eBay.

The signs - featuring the famous black and orange colour scheme - were a once ubiquitous sight on the city streets in the 80s and 90s before First Glasgow came onto the scene in the late 90s after First Group bought over the former Strathclyde Buses.

As many will recall, First Glasgow brought back the 1980s Strathclyde’s Buses livery to mark 125 years of public transport in the city back in 2019.

The listing on eBay notes the replica signs, which are priced at £24.99 each, are made from 'plastic 3mm signage board', are 300mm x 250mm in size, printed on one side only.

And since retro seems to be all the rage we are sure there will be a few folk that are interested in them!
