These Palace fans are saying the same thing as Spurs knock Man City out of the Champions League

It has been a night of drama at the Etihad Stadium as Tottenham booked their place in the semi-finals of the Champions League after knocking out Manchester City.

Spurs lost 4-3 on the night, but progressed on away goals, with Fernando Llorente's goal proving to be the difference after it was finally awarded following a lengthy VAR review.

Manchester City thought they had won it late on when Raheem Sterling netted again, having scored twice in a frantic first half that featured five goals in the first 21 minutes. However, his effort was ruled out by VAR after Sergio Aguero was shown to be offside in replays.

As a result, Mauricio Pochettino's men were the ones celebrating after an incredible night at the Etihad Stadium , having won through without their injured striker Harry Kane.

Spurs and Man City fans spot the real reason for their 4-3 Champions League goal fest thriller

But while Spurs fans are jubilant tonight, there are plenty of Crystal Palace supporters who have been quick to point out one thing to their London rivals.

That is that while Spurs are celebrating at the Etihad Stadium, Palace are still the only English side to have won at the home of Pep Guardiola's men so far this season, after stunning the champions with a 3-2 win in December.

Gary Lineker gives his verdict on Tottenham's 'enthralling' Champions League clash with Man City

Former Spurs winger Andros Townsend netted a sensational strike on that day to help the Eagles to victory, and while his old side have been earning plenty of plaudits for scoring three away goals in the Champions League quarter-final tie, these Palace fans have made sure to remind their London rivals of their own efforts in Manchester, being the only side so far to win against City at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League this season.

Here's what some Palace fans have been saying on social networking website Twitter.
