It seems like there's a new It color every season. Sometimes every other month. Take butter yellow, which is surprisingly still über popular. The Pantone Color Institute definitely has a say in which hues are trending since it proclaims one shade its Color of the Year. This year is Mocha Mousse in case you forgot. For summer, we're not simply embracing one color. Actually, we're favoring a whole bunch courtesy of summer sunset pieces.
It's kinda shocking how many ombré and gradient clothing and accessories featuring oranges, reds, pinks, yellows and purples are currently on the market. This trend isn't a new one, though. Courrèges helped instigate the concept with its Spring 2023 collection. Fortunately, looks from that offering are still available. In addition, brands like Cult Gaia, Andrea Iyamah, Desigual and Kobi Halperin supply several options.
Most give a general impression of seasonal sunsets without specifically naming the beautiful phenomenon. There are a handful, however, that are more blatant. None more so than SIGAL's wrap skirt that proclaims "Sunset Gazer. Wave Chaser." Others reference sunsets in the names of the products, including Michael Costello's Revolve collaboration midi dress and Courrèges' runway-worthy Sunset Gradient-Effect Dress.
