These Nottingham bars will be giving away free gin cocktails - but there's a catch

Cocktail lovers are in for a summer bank holiday treat later this month when four Nottingham bars will be giving away a free drink to the first 30 people through the door.

But to bag a free Boutique-y Gin Pineapple Mule cocktail there's one condition - you have to wear pineapple clothing (the fruit, not the dance studio brand) or have pineapple body art.

Popular in the 1920s, but long since forgotten, pineapple gin is back with a 21st century twist. Whole pineapples are roasted on a spit with demerara sugar until caramelisation occurs, then combined with a bold and bright gin.

Served with chilled ginger beer, a squeeze of lime and a mint garnish, it's described as "the most refreshing drink summer has ever seen."

Bars, participating on Sunday August 25, are Suede, in Heathcoat Street, Hockley; Junkyard, Bridlesmith Walk; Broadway, Broad Street, and the Tailor's Arms, in Wilford.
