These hotels and holidays are still available in UK - despite rush for staycation bookings

The outlook for foreign travel is still uncertain so many people will be planning a staycation this summer.

The government has encouraged holidaymakers to stay at home to avoid the turmoil of an overseas trip and the ever-changing categories on its traffic light travel system.

However, there is still plenty of availability at destinations across the UK, with some great deals available in fantastic locations, BirminghamLive reports.

From bustling metropolitan towns, to white sandy beaches, rolling hills and rugged mountain ranges, there’s something for everyone.

Here some of the most desirable holiday locations around the UK, with a recommended hotel which (at time of writing) still has rooms available — just hurry if you like the look of any of them.

The region has provided inspiration to many of England’s great poets, as well as being a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2017.

With its crystal-clear lakes, rugged landscapes and romantic literary history, The Lake District is the perfect place to clear the mind and become inspired by the surroundings..

While Essex may not usually top lists of holiday destinations, Osea Island is an underrated gem.

This serene island getaway is beloved by many celebs, including Rihanna, who reportedly booked out the entire island for a whopping £20,000 a day while working on her next album.

Where to Stay? There are plenty of cottages dotted along Osea’s beachfront, but if you’re going with a large group, the vast self-catering holiday home Manor House provides up to 16 visitors with a quirky, retro base from which to explore the island, complete with four-poster beds and seafront views.

Prices start from £250 per night.
