These Glasgow trains will be replaced by bus services on Sunday

People travelling between Glasgow and Cumbernauld this weekend will have to take the bus as Scotrail complete engineering works.

Trains between Queen Street High Level and Cumbernauld will not operate on Sunday (June 2), with a rail replacement bus services taking over instead.

Stops impacted by these changes are Glasgow Queen Street, Springburn, Stepps, Gartcosh, Greenfaulds and Cumbernauld itself. This will also affect some routes from Edinburgh, but not all.

Trains from Edinburgh to Glasgow via Cumbernauld and Falkirk Grahamston would see the impact of works, while the service between Falkirk High will remain unaffected.

For those who travel from Cumbernauld to Glasgow or on routes which usually pass through stations such as Springburn or Greenfaulds, trains will be replaced by buses for some or all of the route.

However, engineering works should be restricted to the Sunday, meaning that Saturday (June 1) will see trains operate between Cumbernauld and Glasgow as usual.
