He has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League - and Che Adams will now be gracing the top flight next season after completing a switch to Southampton.
The 22-year-old striker has today (Monday) been confirmed as Southampton's second summer signing, with the forward joining the Saints from Birmingham City in a deal worth a reported £15million.
In a statement confirming his arrival, Southampton stated that they had beaten other Premier League sides to his signature, after Adams netted 22 times in the Championship last season for the Blues.
And Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl has spoken of his delight at completing the signing, adding that Adams "fits the profile of player" Southampton want to bring to the club, adding that he is very driven to show what he can do at the highest level.
"We have been monitoring his progress for some time now," Hasenhuttl told Southampton's club website .
"He has shown a desire to join us above all other clubs, which shows the positive reputation Southampton has built for developing young players."
But Adams' move to the south coast has attracted attention from fans of rival clubs too, with some Crystal Palace fans taking to social media this afternoon (Monday) to bemoan the fact that such a player has joined a fellow Premier League side.
