These beautiful pictures show Liverpool is really in the mood for Spring

Merseyside residents flocked outside and bathed in the warm weather this afternoon. 

Today's weather marks the beginning of a summery spell expected to last throughout the week.

According to the Met Office, while Monday evening might bring a touch of frost, Tuesday could see some more sunny spells during the day.

Temperatures on Tuesday are expected to reach 13 degrees.

Merseyside set for spell of warm weather as early summer continues

For the rest of the week, weather in the North West will remain generally dry with light breezes and a mixture of  cloud and sunny spells.

The warmer weather comes ahead of the clock change at the end of the week - which will bring longer, brighter evenings.

Clocks are due to go forward by one hour at 1am on Sunday 31 March marking the start of British Summer Time.
