These are the most popular May bank holiday day trip destinations from London

If the upcoming May bank holidays are anything like the Easter break just gone, then we’re in for a treat. The Easter weekend delivered temperatures surpassing 20C , which saw Londoners flocking to their local parks and tucking in to a cans of G&T.

With two bank holidays on the horizon, Trainline has analysed data from prior May bank holidays to find the most popular day trip destinations for Londoners this year. You may want to have your G&T while punting along the River Cam during the next bank holiday weekend instead, as Cambridge tops the list of the most popular day trip destinations for Londoners.

This is closely followed by Oxford, Birmingham, Brighton and Manchester.

You can find the top 10 day trip destinations below.
