Elections for all 134 seats in the Minnesota House of Representatives will take place on Nov. 8, 2022.

This article details the five most expensive contested general elections in the House of Representatives.

This information comes from candidate reports to the Minnesota Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board covering the period of Jan. 1, 2021, through July 18, 2022.

Five general elections with the most fundraising

#1 District 54A – $169,936

Incumbent Erik Mortensen (R) raised $115,776, Brad Tabke (D) raised $54,160, and Ryan Martin (U) raised $0.

#2 District 35A – $117,241

Incumbent John Heinrich (R) raised $18,935 and Incumbent Zack Stephenson (D) raised $98,306.

#3 District 34B – $102,677

Incumbent Melissa Hortman (D) raised $102,677 and Scott Simmons (R) raised $0.

#4 District 7B – $102,015

Incumbent Dave Lislegard (D) raised $38,141 and Matt Norri (R) raised $63,874.

#5 District 42B – $98,773

Incumbent Ginny Klevorn (D) raised $76,802 and Jackie Schroeder (R) raised $21,972.

The data above are based on campaign finance reports that active Minnesota PACs submitted to the Minnesota Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board. Political expenditures that are not controlled by candidates or their campaigns, known as satellite spending, are not included in candidate totals. Federal PACs are not required to report to state agencies.
