McDonald’s finally gave Merseyside what it wanted today, with eight restaurants reopening their drive thrus after weeks of waiting.
The fast food chain confirmed hundreds more branches across the country will reopen today and for the first time, Liverpool was not missing from its list.
Since the announcement last week that McDonald’s would be reopening a further 975 drive-thrus across the country, fans have been anxiously waiting for the release of which stores would reopen - with yesterday's update disappointing fans in Merseyside who were waiting for their fix.
Now, there are a number of restaurants across Merseyside operating their drive thrus, including Aintree, Switch Island and Formby.
The openings caused chaos at sites across the city, with car parks becoming grid locked and huge queues leading up to restaurants.
But, there are still several restaurants in the city which remain closed.
Many fans were left confused today after driving past some branches and seeing the lights on and staff inside. However only branches named below are open for the time being.
However, we might not have much longer to wait though, as McDonald’s is expected to announce more openings tomorrow, June 4, with the aim of reopening all drive-thrus.
This means hopefully tomorrow bosses will confirmed Liverpool's Edge Lane, Rice Lane, County Road and Scotland Road sites to name a few will reopen.
