These are the items that are banned from Glastonbury Festival 2019

It's just six days until Glastonbury Festival kicks off, so for those of you who were lucky enough to bag a ticket, it's time to start preparing.

As part of the organiser's Love Worthy Farm, Leave No Trace campaign, environmentally friendly items are being strongly encouraged across the board.

Single use items, though not actually banned, are unwanted at the event and officials are pushing for a more sustainable approach.

It's advised to only bring items you can take home again. Plastic wrapping around your bags is to be avoided, particularly as bags will be subject to searches.

Certain items will be banned from Glastonbury this year (PA)

On the official Glastonbury Festival website, there are plenty of helpful tips on what to bring with you to maximise your Glasto experience, but what about all the items you definitely can't bring?

- Gazebos Organisers point to the valuable tent space they take up, so strongly discourage them. Putting tape around your tent enclosures is also a no-no, as it makes it more difficult for other revellers to access their tents.

- Only food and alcohol for personal consumption is allowed on site.

- Glass If found, it will be confiscated. It's not just beer bottles either - all glass will be taken away, from perfume bottles to mirrors!

- Non-biodegradable body glitter We've all seen the photos of glammed-up punters, their hair and bodies glistening with a rainbow of glitter, but unless it's biodegradable, it isn't welcome at Glastonbury. If you can't possibly party without glitter, traders will be selling the environmentally kind on site.

 - Disposable wipes Its website even excludes biodegradable ones, which some will have undoubtedly thought to be a safe choice, as they quickly break down into micro-plastics, a "problematic environmental pollutant". Surprisingly, plant fibre-based biodegradable wipes can also be the cause of an eco headache, as they release greenhouse gases as they decompose.

Items that are strictly prohibited include:

- Portable laser equipment and pens

- Animals other than registered guide dogs

- Sound systems and drums

- Generators

- Nitrous oxide (laughing gas), is a contraband and is banned at the festival.

- Flying or filming with Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, popularly referred to as drones, is prohibited by law and strictly not allowed on site at any point before, during or after the festival.

- Sky lanterns, kites and unauthorised fireworks or wax flares.

Those who use fireworks will be removed from the site. In addition, no unauthorised film or video equipment is allowed, but personal use cameras are.
