McDonald's are reintroducing five popular items back on their limited menu.
The fast food chain reopened Edinburgh drive thrus at the beginning of June, which saw huge queues of cars tailed back all over the city as locals waited to get their first Big Mac in months.
However, the relaunch only offered a selective menu, as McDonald's ensured staff were following social distancing and hygiene protocols whilst working.
After a successful first month of opening, last night the fast food chain announced that five new items would be added back on to the menu in efforts to keep thousands of hungry customers happy.
Classics such as the Big Mac and chicken nuggets were on the first menu, however many had stated they were missing other favourites such as milkshakes and a Mayo Chicken, which will now be making a return.
The full list of new items are as follows:
- Shakes
- Mayo Chicken
- Bacon Mayo Chicken
- Hot Chocolate
- Bacon Double Cheeseburger
July 8 will also see a breakfast service rolled out to 1000 more restaurants in the UK, however it has not been confirmed whether or not any of these will be in Edinburgh.
In a statement, McDonalds said:
"From 11am on Wednesday, 8th July, we will reintroduce some of the main menu items you've told us you're missing, as we slowly seek to return our full menu.
"Next week, Shakes, Mayo Chicken, Bacon Mayo Chicken, Hot Chocolate and the Bacon Double Cheeseburger all rejoin the menu with Happy Meal Organic Milk bottles will also be making a return for our younger customers.
"As we continue to adapt to the social distancing and safety measures in our kitchens and service areas, we will constantly review what we are able to sell and hope to reintroduce more items later in the summer."
