These are the Everton players who should win the big awards at the Dixies

The Premier League campaign is winding down towards a close, and Everton are preparing for their end-of-season awards.

This time The change Everton are making to this year's Dixie awards , however, with the ceremony being a purely online affair - and voting is now open for supporters on a number of categories.

Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year and Goal of the Year are all available to vote on now for Everton fans, but who should be picking up each of those awards?

Our writers have had their say on what they think should win each category.

Will Everton finish seventh? Predict how the Premier League season will end

Adam Jones

Player of the Season - Lucas Digne

This won't be a surprise, really.

Lucas Digne won't walk all of the end-of-season awards like Jordan Pickford did at the end of last term - but there's little doubting how effective he has been since making the move to Merseyside.

After Leighton Baines' long reign at left back, there was a lot of nervousness surrounding who would step up to fill that place in the side for years to come.

Digne has taken away any doubt in fantastic fashion.

The French international has not only shown his prowess defensively, but also proven himself to be a potent threat in the opposition final third as well with a great crossing ability and three goals this season.

He's only going to get better, too.

Young player of the season - Richarlison

You really do forget how young Richarlison is.

The 21-year-old has been fantastic at stages for the Blues this season, and is currently battling it out with Gylfi Sigurdsson to be Everton's top scorer in his debut campaign for the club.

The change Everton are making to this year's Dixie awards

His impressive displays have even made him a regular for the Brazil national team, which is a fantastic achievement for a player so young.

Goal of the season - Richarlison vs Brighton (H)

Ok, this is for the purpose of being a little different than my two colleagues - we need to have a bit of variety, right?

Sigurdsson's strike against Leicester City is the one that many will vote for, and it will be a completely worthy winner if it does come out on top.

That was a fantastic show of individual brilliance, but my choice is a perfect example of a flowing team move - which somehow isn't actually on the Dixies vote.

Sigurdsson brought the ball out of his own area from a Brighton corner and burst down the left flank back in November, before playing an intelligent one-two with Bernard to bring him right to the edge of the opposing box in now time at all.

The Icelandic international then played a perfectly weighted pass to Richarlison inside the box how slammed the ball home first-time on his left foot.

The pace, creativity and clinical nature of that move is fantastic.

Player of the Season - Lucas Digne

It's not the procession it's been in other seasons, but Lucas Digne is a stand-out player of the season.

His closest rival in terms of consistency has been Michael Keane, but Digne edges it in terms of quality and impact

Richarlison started well, but faded. Likewise Andre Gomes, while Gylfi Sigurdsson has been an under the radar performer.

But Digne has been way out in front.

Young Player of the Season - Richarlison

Richarlison really is only 21.

The Brazilian's campaign at Watford and £35m transfer fee makes observers immediately think he's a seasoned performer.

But he is still a rookie in Premier League terms, and 13 goals in his debut Goodison season - 12 of them in the League, is an excellent return.

Goal of the Season - Gylfi Sigurdsson vs Leicester (A)

Travelling Everton ambassador Ian Snodin knows all about exceptional strikes. He played in the same teams as Kevin Sheedy, Graeme Sharp and Trevor Steven after all.

And his reaction in the King Power Stadium press box in October spoke volumes.A goal from the cultured right foot of Gylfi Sigurdsson was the prompt for his outburst.

Snods' face was a mixture of disbelief and elation as he mouthed “What a 'rather extraordinarily good'* goal!” *Paraphrased to protect the ears and eyes of younger readers.

And it was. Truly world class.

It started with a Cruyff turn and ended with a dipping, 25-yard exocet. Wow!

Sam Carroll

Player of the Season - Michael Keane

Quietly gone about his business at the back.

Lucas Digne is desperately unfortunate not to lift the award but Keane has improved massively. In my eyes he didn't look cut out to play for a club of Everton's stature last season.

Now he looks like he could be the future.

Young player of the Season - Richarlison

If there ever was one, this is a certainty.

Younger than the ever-improving Dominic Calvert-Lewin and with the most U21 goals in the Premier League, the Brazilian has repaid Marco Silva's faith and then some.

It's genuinely exciting to imagine his full potential. Still finding his best position, learning the language and with a lot of media scrutiny on his back, Richarlison has been wonderful this term.

Goal of the Season - Gylfi Sigurdsson vs Leicester (A)

Possibly one of the best individual Everton goals I have ever seen in my life.

From sending James Maddison for the ECHO to shellacking home an almost superhuman strike past Kasper Schmeichel, Sigurdsson fired his way into Evertonian hearts that day at the King Power.

There's been several other decent team goals but the sheer brilliance of Gylfi's goal will ensure he brings home the award.
