These are the Edinburgh M&S stores selling the new Percy Pig ice cream released this week

This week M&S brought smiles to sweet tooths all over the country with the announcement of their latest creation, Percy Pig ice cream.

The gummy sweet is already hugely popular and is one of the most well-known products the brand sell. According to M&S, the ice cream is percy flavoured with "a ripple of fruit sauce and chewy strawberry marshmallows."

Each tub is priced at £3 and is suitable for vegetarians as well as gluten free. Although definitely not an essential item, the dessert is available to pick up in M&S food halls when you are next out for a food shop.

Reactions to the reveal were extremely positive on social media, with over seven thousand likes on the initial post. One Facebook user commented "oh my word... I love Percy Pigs this is a dream", whilst another stated: "OMG I need this!".

According to M&S, the ice cream should be stocked in all food halls, subject to availability. In Edinburgh, the M&S stores without a food hall have been closed to comply with lockdown measures, however larger stores such as The Gyle, Craigleith and Fort Kinnaird are still open for essential shopping.

In the grocery department, M&S has been improving availability across all the essentials, including tinned food, dried goods, cereals and washing and cleaning products as well as family favourites and special treats, including its iconic Percy Pig sweets.
