Emergency services are responding to reports of multiple injuries after a stabbing inside the Manchester Arndale Centre.
Police have confirmed that five people were injured and counter-terrorism officers are leading the investigation.
Video footage shows a female casualty being taken away from the evacuated shopping centre, and a man being held down by police with Tasers.
The area outside of the Arndale near Next, at Exchange Square, has been cordoned off by police.
Shops on Market Street have also been shut down.
This means that a number of transport services have been affected due to the incident.
Transport for Greater Manchester have reported the following alterations:
Tram changes and delays
City Zone - due to the police incident blocking the track at Exchange Square, the Rochdale - Didsbury services will be operating via Market Street and Shudehill. They will not call at Exchange Square at this time.
There are also minor delays on the following lines:
Rochdale via Oldham - services travelling in both directions between Victoria and Rochdale Town Centre are affected.
East Didsbury - services travelling in both directions between Deansgate-Castlefield and East Didsbury are affected.
Other lines are operating on a 'good service'.
