These are the areas where house buyers in Notts bought the cheapest homes

Straight after Christmas is a prime time for buying a house.

Often, all that time spent in the family home or within your rented pad spurs on the desire to move into a place of your own.

The latest Land Registry data has shown the cheapest homes sold in Notts during November were in a variety of locations.

Prices started from £43,000 and the sales occurred in locations that spanned from Nottingham city centre out to Worksop, and from Clifton to Sutton-in-Ashfield.

These are the least expensive homes sold in Nottinghamshire during November.

At the top of the list is a flat in Minerva House, Spaniel Row, in Nottingham city centre. This was the cheapest property to sell during the month and went for £43,000.

Next on the list was a terrace house in Potter Street, Worksop, which sold for £47,000.

It seems Minerva House was a popular location in November. Another flat in the block sold for £52,500.

Other Nottingham city centre locations that made the list were Harwill Crescent, where a semi-detached house sold for £54,000, and a terrace in Finsbury Avenue, which sold for £60,000.

Over in Co Operative Street, Stanton Hill, Sutton-In-Ashfield, a terrace house sold for £61,000, while in Park Street, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, a semi-detached house, sold for £64,000, proving that you aren't just looking at flats when it comes to lower priced homes.

A home-buyer picked up a terrace in Kingsway, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, sold for £65,000, while a flat in Eddlestone Drive, Clifton, sold for £65,000.

The remaining four homes on the top ten list where all in Aveling Way, Shireoaks.  Four terrace houses each sold for £67,614.

According to the Land Registry, 24,548 residential sales have been registered from November 2019.  It seems that if you want a real bargain then a bigger move may be in order.  The least expensive sales in November across England and Wales has a house in Newbiggin-by-the-sea in Northumberland, where one house buyer bought a terrace in East Lea for £15,000 - around the price or a new Ford Fiesta.

The Land Registry lists the price paid for every property bought at market value. The data also includes sales under a power of sale/repossessions, buy-to-lets (where they can be identified by a Mortgage) and transfers to non-private individuals. It may take several weeks for sales to be registered after completion so some sales from later in November may not be listed yet.
