These 10 cameras are getting more expensive on the used market in Japan – the biggest hike is 24.1% and it's a DSLR!

Nikon D5600.

The latest cameras often come with anything but an affordable price tag, which is one reason buying used remains so popular. New data from Japanese camera marketplace Minna Camera shows that demand for some older cameras is pushing their used prices higher.

Of the 32 models with a clear price movement during the first half of 2026, 28 increased in price – around 88%. The biggest rise was a striking 24.1%, while even the tenth-placed camera increased by 7.8%.

The top spot goes to a discontinued DSLR released in 2016, the Nikon D5600, while the rest of the top 10 is made up of a trio of compacts and twice as many mirrorless cameras. The second-biggest rise came from the Sony A7 IV, which increased by 11.9%, while the Ricoh GR III followed at 10.9%

Review insight: "The Nikon D5600 is the most recent member of the Nikon D5000-series camera club. The D5600 is one step up from the entry-level Nikon D3500, filling the space between that model and the more enthusiast- and pro-oriented Nikon D7500 and D500" (Image credit: Future)

Review insight: "The Canon EOS R50 is what would happen if the M50 Mark II and the R10 had a baby. Carrying over the incredibly small and compact size of the M50 and improving on its specs in every way, with the excellent sensor and processor from the R10, the R50 makes a serious play to be one of the best pocket-friendly cameras today" (Image credit: Gareth Bevan / Future)
