What happens now for Brexit as Theresa May suffers THIRD humiliating defeat over Brexit deal

Theresa May has suffered a third humiliating defeat of her Brexit deal - meaning a No Deal Brexit or the calling of a General Election could be just days away.

The under-pressure Prime Minister once again gambled on her withdrawal agreement in Parliament in a bid to break the Brexit deadlock that has engulfed the Commons for so long.

She was previously told by Speaker John Bercow that after two previous heavy defeats, she could not bring her full deal back in the same form.

To get past this, Mrs May broke her deal into two parts, the withdrawal agreement and what is called the political declaration, which focuses on what the UK's future relationship with Europe would look like.

If today's withdrawal agreement vote had gone the government's way - it would have meant the UK would leave the EU on May 22.

But today's defeat by a heavy score of 344 to 286 leaves the whole process shrouded in more uncertainty than ever - and means the possibility of the country crashing out of the bloc with no deal on April 12 is now a huge possibility.

And reacting to the result, the European Commission has just said that a 'no-deal' Brexit on Friday 12 April is now a "likely scenario"

There are also plenty of people predicting that a General Election will now be called.

But it could also mean that a much longer delay to Brexit - potentially until the end of the year.

However, the added complication here is that it will mean the UK taking part in European Elections in May.

Nobody knows what the Prime Minister's next move will now be.

She has already publicly ruled out personally going for a long extension to Brexit but also admitted Parliament will rule out No Deal.

But ahead of April 12 she will have to choose between three options - cancelling Brexit, crashing out with no deal or a "long" delay.
