There will be no former Ohio State players in the Super Bowl for the first time since …

If there’s an NFL game on, usually there are a few former Ohio State players running around completing feats of athletic endeavors. However, with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Kansas City Chiefs having done what they need to advance to Tampa to play in Super Bowl LV, there will be no former Buckeyes in the game for the first time in quite some time.

In fact, the 2021 version of the yearly spectacle that is the Super Bowl will be the first time a former OSU player will not participate in the game since 2014 when the Seattle Seahawks administered a public flogging to the Denver Broncos 43-8.

Even more surprising, the conference championship games had just one former Ohio State player involved, with Green Bay Packer center Corey Linsley. But, since Aaron Rogers couldn’t use his discount double-check superpowers, we’ll have to settle.

We’re sure you’ll be watching the game since it’s American football, it just won’t be quite as fun without some scarlet and gray popping up on your television or streaming device.
