'There's s*** everywhere. I hope nature takes its revenge on you': Ex-Doctor Who star Christopher Eccleston's powerful Heaton Park litter rant

Now we know what REALLY gets the Time Lord angry.

Salford-born Christopher Eccleston, 55, took to Instagram to deliver one of the most quietly terrifying monologues of his career.

The object of his ire? Litter.

Walking through his beloved Heaton Park, former Doctor Who star Eccleston told of his rage to find it 'covered in s***'.

"It's one of the most beautiful parks in the country," he said.

"I've been coming here since I was a kid.

"It really is a beautiful place... and it's covered in s***, by people who have picnics, and leave their coke bottles, and their wrappers."

"There's s*** everywhere, dirty nappies, they just foul it up."

"And I tell you what I hope nature takes its revenge on you, every single one of you that's leaves s*** on the floor and in parks.

"What you've done to Heaton Park is disgusting.

"And hope the planet turns round and s***s on you."

The intervention was widely praised by Eccleston's 32,500 Instagram followers.

"Christopher Eco-ston. You tell them," wrote one.

"The fury of a timelord," wrote another.

"This is everything the Doctor should say about our planet!" wrote another.

Eccleston's rant comes after we told of two lads from Lithuania who have got so fed up of litter in Manchester's canals they've started to clean them up themselves.

Last year, the Keep Britain Tidy charity joined forces with town hall bosses to make Manchester the country’s first ‘Tidy City’ by 2020,  engaging the public and businesses in the fight against litter, dog-fouling and fly-tipping.

This saw 7,000 Mancunians supporting 200 clean-up events.
