There's now a greasy spoon map of Edinburgh's classic cafés - and you can add to it

There is now a 'greasy spoon' map of Edinburgh's classic cafés - which anyone can add to

The map was created on Reddit, where locals and tourists can take to the thread and add in their favourite cafés from around the city.

'Greasy spoons' (as they're affectionately called) pride themselves on their simplicity, classic tasty grub and affordable prices. Due to Edinburgh being full of them, it's no wonder over 66 people have commented on the thread so far.

One person commented: "The place next door to The Clock at the Shore, 56 Bernard St, not strictly a greasy spoon but does morning rolls with bacon, sausage, egg, black pudding etc all made to order. Can not mind what it's called but does amazing bacon and egg rolls with all the egg dripping out."

Another said: "Chequers on Broughton St, was always my go to when I worked down that way. Lady who runs it is super nice and you get free tea sometimes."

Burger and chip vans also count, with many expressing their love for vans across the city.

One person said: "Not really a café but the chip cart on Middle Meadow Walk has the greasiest chips on the planet and they only cost £1.50 for a massive box."
