This may be a trivial complaint but it is one which I do not appear able to resolve. I applied for car insurance through comparethemarket.com in July of this year, the insurance was organised and all the paperwork received. The reason for using this particular search site was the fact that for every car insurance policy you take out, you can claim a free meerkat, and my daughter is an avid collector and specifically wanted a baby Oleg.
The toy never arrived and despite contacting comparethemarket.com on eight occasions via email I have only received a single response stating they would only follow up missing toys after 70 days had elapsed.
This has now passed but they do not appear to have a telephone contact, so I am at a loss as to how to proceed. TA, Newcastle
Never let it be said that Guardian Money isn’t afraid to tackle the big issues. The meerkat ads from comparethemarket.com have to be one of the most successful marketing campaigns in the last decade, and, amazing as it may seem to some, lots of people enjoy collecting the dolls, including your daughter. It is disappointing to learn that comparethemarket.com ignored your emails. However, after a quick call to meerkat HQ, a baby Oleg has been found, and is on its way.
