There's going to be a huge gin festival in Edinburgh this weekend, with over 100 varieties to try

This city loves its gin, so it is no surprise that Edinburgh is the next stop for "the UK's biggest gin festival", which is hitting the Scottish capital on 20 April.

The Great British Gin Festival will take over The Assembly Rooms with over 100 gins for you try.

As well as a huge selection of traders' tipples to sample, there will also be cocktail demos from bartenders and live entertainment throughout the day.

For those interested in the business of gin making, there is talks and presentations from producers and industry experts from around the world.

Alternatively, if you're just looking to sample some of the finest gins around, bars will operate on a token system costing £5 each, with one token paying for a measure of gin, its appropriate garnish, and premium tonic.

Any left over tokens can be used for 25ml test tubes filled with your favourite gin to take home.

Tickets cost between £15.53-£32.06 and can be purchased from eventbrite here.
