A "dachshund e-meet" may sound unusual but these are unprecedented times and people are coming up with innovative ways to stay in touch.
The online doggy meet up, which is in line with social distancing guidance, is being organised by Dachshunds in Edinburgh on Sunday 5 April at 12pm.
The group have walks on the 3rd Sunday of every month, popping up in the likes of Inverleith Park and Dalkeith Country Park. In the past, they have even hosted a festive flashmob of dachshunds in Christmas jumpers.
This time around the virtual event will be open to pooches from around the world. While there will be a limit of 100 participants, people will be able to drop in and out of the video.
Organisers say owners can even get in touch if their canines have any party tricks they'd love to show off on camera and they will set up a running order before the event kicks off.
Dachshunds in Edinburgh said: "We won't let COVID-19 stop us from our usual antics! On Sunday 9th April we will host a Dachshund Zoom Video meet — ensuring we are definitely meeting the #stayathome and #socialdistancing guidance!
"The beauty of this is that we can open it to ANY DACHSHUNDS AROUND THE WORLD WHO WOULD LIKE TO JOIN! I know our page has followers from around the world who would love to attend our walks — now is your chance... kind of."
