'There’s been quite a few offers in' - Bristol City boss gives update on Sunderland target

Sunderland target Antoine Semenyo has been the subject of a number of offers already this January transfer window.

Phil Parkinson confirmed the Bristol City forward was one of the players the Black Cats had an interest in last month.

But they will face competition to land the 19-year-old front man, with League One rivals Doncaster also believed to be keen.

And City boss Lee Johnson has revealed the player has been at the centre of interest.

"We've got to assess all those options," Johnson told our sister title Bristol Live.

"We've recalled Jojo Wollacott - so I believe that's happening - therefore it gives us an option to have another homegrown player on the bench," explained Johnson.

"There's been quite a few offers in for Semenyo and for some of our players who have been in and around it".

Speaking of Sunderland's interest in Parkinson had said: “He is a player we have looked at.

“He has pace and power, and he’s someone we have been monitoring.”
