The lyricist, who works in oil fields as a day job, is currently in the process of launching a record label, along with its own studio.

The coronavirus pandemic has delayed his plans to make music, but Phil is determined A Sed It records will produce and record artists very soon.

Phil told the ECHO : "I've been back in the UK for almost a year, I came back for Christmas and have been here since [due to travel restrictions].

"It has changed a lot, it's very different from the Southport I grew up in."

Before leaving Canada, Phil says he spent some £150,000 on a recording studio and is launching his own label.

He has also recorded a new song, Pray, which he hopes will be released soon.

The dad-of-four previously told the ECHO : "I love Southport because no matter where I go, it is still regarded as my home.

In his song, SPT, Phil can be heard singing “living the dream, being obscene, just another Sandgrounder “ with the video showing him dressed in a fake curly wig, gold chain and white cap.

The singer, songwriter and producer also mentions a topic constantly debated by Sandgrounders - the accent.

In the four-minute tune Phil includes the line: “Some people talking Manc, some people talking Scouse, but who’s the champ on the wheel in the funhouse?”.

There are plenty more songs in Phil’s repertoire with one of them - Entertain Yuzz - amassing almost 12,000 views on YouTube.
