There's a singalong afternoon tea featuring Mamma Mia happening in Edinburgh on Mother's Day

With Valentine's Day over, it's nearly time to treat another very important person: your mum. And we have the perfect day out to score you some brownie points this Mother's Day.

Forget spa deals, the Ghillie Dhu - which is known for its energetic ceilidhs - is hosting a boozy afternoon tea, with a special screening of the hit movie Mamma Mia on Sunday 22 March.

If you haven't already seen it, the musical rom-com follows bride-to-be Sophie as she secretly invites three men with the hope that one of them is her father.

This is the perfect day out, with a glass of fizz to kick things off on arrival, followed by the afternoon tea full of tasty delights. Then comes a sing-along screening of the film, which features all the ABBA hits from your mother's youth.

After the film, there will even be an ABBA tribute duo taking to the stage for some more tunes.

The event costs £24.95 per person and can be booked by emailing:
events@ghillie-dhu.co.uk

If you are a huge fan of the film but can't make it along on the day, don't worry because a VIP singalong cinema has announced it will be popping up in Edinburgh next summer, and is screening Mamma Mia.
