'There's a shock' - Manchester United fans react as Man City learn European ban appeal decision

Manchester United fans have been reacting to news of Manchester City 's European ban being overturned this morning.

City had been banned from European competition and fined €30m for allegedly 'disguising equity funding'.

But their appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport has been partly successful.

The Court found City had not disguised equity, removing their European ban but they did fail to cooperate in the case, leading to a fine which was significantly reduced from €30m to €10m.

That news could have a significant impact for United, who are currently vying for a Champions League spot.

The ruling means the normal criteria for Champions League qualification will now apply with third place qualifying automatically and fourth entering the playoffs rather than fifth opening up, as it would have if the ban was upheld.

United fans have been reacting to the news this morning.

Here's what they have had to say.

United are currently fifth and just two points behind Chelsea in third with a game in-hand to play against Southampton tonight.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men have their fate in their own hands.
