But there's a secret way you can speed up your Android smartphone and it's in your phone’s settings menu.
Deep in the menu is the option to reduce device animations, Birmingham Live reports.
And that’ll make every app you open and button you press feel snappier and more responsive overall.
Simply follow these steps:
- Enable developer options under 'System'. To unlock developer options you'll need to tap on your phone's build number multiple times.
- Toggles for animation speed are located just over half way in developer options.
- Unlock them, and go to the secret menu where "animations" toggles live.
- Three settings will need to be altered to give your phone a speed boost: Window animation scale, Transition animation scale and Animator duration scale.
- Each should be set to 1x. However, changing each to 0.5x should noticeably speed up the performance of your device.
