There's a secret new Nectar scheme that could earn you hundreds of points

Shoppers could now earn hundreds more points on their Nectar cards thanks to a secret scheme the loyalty card company is keeping under wraps.

The card, most commonly used at Sainsbury's, earns you points for every pound you spend and those points then add up to a 'cash' value you can use to make purchases.

But now Nectar is rolling out a new scheme that could see you earn 50 points for every pound you spend at places such as Nando's, Costa Coffee and on AirBnB - reports MEN.

The deal has been flagged up with a small number of Nectar users while the company tries it out, according to Martin Lewis's website Money Saving Expert.

A Nectar spokesman told Money Saving Expert: It is "trialling a new Nectar rewards service with a small number of customers".

Nectar users who are eligible to take part need to sign up for the shopper rewards scheme on the Nectar website and link at least one credit or debit card to their account from Halifax, Lloyds, M&S Bank, MBNA, Monzo, Nationwide, Natwest, RBS, Revolut, Sainsbury's Bank, Santander, Starling, TSB or Ulster Bank.

After picking deals you are interested in you spend on your card as usual and the points all add up.
