There's a pirate festival coming to the valleys

A Pirate Festival is taking place in Wales this summer holiday - and there will be an authentic pirate bar brawl.

Taking place at Llancaiach Fawr, it will also feature live music, face painting, sword fighting, ferret racing and other fun and games.

The staged 'brawl' will see smugglers, pirates, wenches and king's men slug it out over a precious treasure map.

Hosted by the Brotherhood of the Black, the Pirate Festival will be held on Saturday, August 31 and Sunday, September 1 .

There's camping available for those who wish to stay over at Llancaiach Fawr in Nelson to squeeze the most out of the weekend.

Watch out for the highway men who will be on site trying to transport their hostages and let's not forget there's a beer tent and a real cider on offer too.
