There's a new WhatsApp update coming to Android users

WhatsApp is a great app but it can always be better, that's why it is constantly updated by Facebook, who bought it back in 2014.

This latest update is good news for Android users who often send photos and just sort of hope they're being sent to the right person.

Currently, users of Android devices can’t easily see who the message is being sent to with only a small icon of the contact appearing at the top of the screen.

The Express writes that a new update is currently being trialled in beta where you now see the actual name of whose about to receive the photo printed next to where you type your message.

So, if you have multiple friends with similar profile pictures then it can be a tricky business, but not for much longer.

This upgrade should end the embarrassment of sending images to the wrong person in your contacts - something no doubt many users have done.

iPhone users currently have this option with the name appearing clearly alongside the message box.

It’s unclear when WhatsApp will officially release this Android upgrade but it shouldn’t be too long before it lands on devices.

WhatsApp users are also hoping that a long-rumoured Dark Mode (similar Twitter) will finally arrive later this year too.
