There's a Comic Con happening at The Forge Shopping Centre this weekend

Be prepared to bump into the likes of Iron Man, Batman and Chewbacca if you're heading to this shopping centre over the weeekend.

A massive Comic Con event is taking place at The Forge over the next two days, with activities for all ages (from tots to adults) as well as a series of guest appearances from writers and artists representing Marvel, DC, Image and 2000ad Comics.

Comic-mania has been sweeping the country of late, as a series of similar fantasy and cosplay events take place.

BGCP Comic Con has been spearheading the movement, touring Glasgow and the west, and will be taking over The Forge Shopping Centre on July 20 and 21.

The event takes place from 10am - 5pm and will feature over 70 traders.

Organiser Ian Bonar, of BGCP Comic Con, said: “We're extremely excited for the Comic Con takeover, we've organised events similar to this before but tickets have never went so quickly like they have for the Forge so we're expecting a busy weekend and hopefully this leads to an annual event.

"Anyone planning to attend should expect an affordable day out with lots for sale, Hollywood Greenscreen, Cosplayers and several Art workshops and classes free of charge."

The event is suitable for all ages. Entry is free but tickets must be ordered here .
