‘There’s a chance’ Mike Hughes plays for Vikings in Week 2

Mike Hughes has been out since Week 6 of the 2018 season due to a torn ACL.

After missing the season opener as he continues to get back to 100 percent, Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said there’s a chance that Hughes plays on Sunday against the Packers, via Ben Goessling.

The Vikings are thin at cornerback. Mackensie Alexander left in Week 1 with a dislocated elbow, and his status against Green Bay is up in the air. Holton Hill is suspended for the first eight games of the 2019 season.

If Hughes is fully healthy, then this would be a welcomed addition, obviously.

But the Vikings won’t rush Hughes back. Returning from a torn ACL can be a tricky thing, and even if Hughes’ knee is fully healthy, it can be easier for him to hurt something else, much like we saw Dalvin Cook hurt his hamstring last season.

Speaking of Cook . . . How good did he look this week?

Something to keep an eye on throughout the week as the Vikings get ready for Aaron Rodgers and the Packers.
