Cinema fans in Glasgow best grab a seat and a cold beverage to soak up this amazing news...

There's a Blade Runner screening with a live orchestra coming to the city.

Blade Runner Live will allow lucky fans the chance to experience Ridley Scott’s cult classic on a vast HD screen - while Vangelis' synthesiser-led score is performed by The Avex Ensemble for the very first time in-sync with the film.

The 12-piece ensemble will feature synthesizers, strings, brass, bass, and percussion, bringing the film's BAFTA and Golden Globe nominated soundtrack to life at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.

Released in 1982, the stylish noir thriller follows detective Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) as he attempts to track down four Replicants who have escaped from colonies and returned to earth.

It has since been named one of the best films of all time by the likes of TIME Magazine and Empire as well as influencing a new generation of science fiction films, TV series and video games.

The screening, which takes place on Saturday, March 28 next year, will show the 2007 Final Cut of the film.
