Major retailers are slashing prices on must have goods as they launch what would traditionally be Boxing Day sales several days before December 26.
With stores including Currys PC World and John Lewis launching huge discounts on tech, home appliances, homewares, fashion, beauty and toys, consumers are in for a shopping bonanza without the queues that are usually seen in the days following Christmas.
As all of mainland Scotland is plunged into strict Level 4 restrictions from midnight on December 25 to tackle the spread of COVID-19, all non-essential shops must close their doors to the public.
In an effort to boost sales, many retailers have switched on their seasonal discounts early in response - with clearance items enjoying reductions of up to 70% or more in many cases.
Argos has already been running a massive clearance in the week before Christmas.
And on Christmas Eve, John Lewis launched their Boxing Day sale online, with up to 50% off top ticket items.
Next will start their online sale at 3pm on Christmas Eve and demand is expected to be high, with a virtual queuing system to manage numbers.
