Mike Mignola's seminal comic book character returns to the big screen in this reboot from director Neil Marshall.
In this action-packed, R-rated take on the character, legendary half-demon superhero Hellboy (David Harbour) struggles with supernatural beings and his own sense of place. Under the not-always-sympathetic tutelage of his adoptive father Trevor Bruttenholm (Ian McShane), he works with the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense (BPRD) to protect mankind from threats from the spiritual world. When battling rampaging giants in the English countryside, Hellboy comes face to face with Nimue, the Blood Queen (Milla Jovovich), a resurrected ancient sorceress who wants revenge for a wrong done to her in the past.
Hellboy must stop Nimue before her desire for vengeance brings about the end of the world. But he soon discovers that he and Nimue have a deeper bond, leading him to question his place in the world.
