'There is previous' - pundit slams Jake Livermore challenge on Yuri Ribeiro

Sky Sports pundit Keith Andrews has insisted that West Bromwich Albion midfielder Jake Livermore was fortunate to escape a red card during the .

Just 17 minutes into the contest, Forest left-back Yuri Ribeiro chased down a loose ball on the left-hand side of the pitch, only for him to be clattered into by Baggies midfielder Livermore.

Replays evidently showed that Livermore won none of the ball, fully putting his studs into Ribeiro's knee.

It was a very, very risky challenge for the former Tottenham Hotspur man to make, especially right under the nose of the referee's assistant.

The midfielder, surprisingly, escaped without a booking. But Andrews, analysing the game for Sky Sports, felt the challenge was worthy of red card.

Andrews told Sky Sports: "I have to think that there is previous here, because we are down at the opposite end of the pitch and you assume that he [Livermore] is just trying to get the ball and he hasn't.

"You assume he is trying to block it. He is right in front of the referee's assistant.

"He has done him. He is very, very fortunate to escape a red card, especially with where the officials are.

"He hasn't blocked it. There is the little stamp just below his knee and the fact that he has done that after [shouted at Ribeiro] is quite telling.

"There may be a little bit of previous. I haven't seen anything in this game but there could be something that has happened off the ball and he is very fortunate."
