'There is only ONE goal' - Sabri Lamouchi's message to Nottingham Forest players

Sabri Lamouchi has already staged a group meeting with every member of the Nottingham Forest staff during the pre-season tour of Spain - and wants to get to know everyone at the club as soon as possible.

The Frenchman believes it is vital for him to forge a positive relationship with the people around him - but also for everyone connected with the Reds to understand his ethos.

Lamouchi has worked hard to make a positive first impression, during his first few days in charge.

And he believes a sense of unity and togetherness will be vital, if Forest’s two-decade long search for success is to finally be brought to an end.

“I want to get to know everyone at the club as soon as possible,” said Lamouchi, who took charge of his first game last night, as Forest drew 0-0 with Dundee.

“It is important to get to know everyone at the club and what they are doing - and to introduce myself and my staff.

“It is new for me, but it is new also for the people already here; who have been working here for many years.

“We need to understand quickly; very fast, what we want.

“It is the same for the players. They need to know the ethos of the manager and the way I want to work. We do not have time to lose on that front.”

Lamouchi, who has been head coach of the Ivory Coast and Rennes, as well as having had spell working in Qatar, understands the pressure to hit the ground running, with only a month or so until the new season starts.

“We have one month to prepare for the new season and that will continue tomorrow,” said Lamouchi.

“But over the course of a 10 month season, this division is so strong, so long and so difficult.

“We will face many problems, we will face many challenges, but we will also face good moments together.

“We need to focus on our job, on our spirit and on our targets. There is only one goal here.”
