'There is no road closure at Celtic Park' Council chiefs dismiss 'fake' document

The "leaked" document that has Celtic fans believing they will unveil their new manager next week has been branded a "fake".

A notice supposedly from Glasgow City Council warns of "large crowds" at the stadium on Monday, and that there will be restricted access because of it.

This has supporters excited at the prospect of Brendan Rodgers ’ successor finally being confirmed as rumours swept the internet.

But Record Sport has spoken to the council and they have dismissed the document as photoshopped.

A spokesman said: "I have seen this document and can confirm it is not real.

"There is no road closure at Celtic Park on Monday."

Meanwhile, the identity of Celtic’s new manager has taken further twists today.

Rafa Benitez has still not signed a new contract with Newcastle and, despite his odds continuing to drop, our sister title The Chronicle believe he will extend his stay at St James’ Park.

They report the Spaniard has declined talks with Marseille and Roma as he focuses on agreeing a new deal.
