Former Leeds United defender Stephen Warnock believes his old club have 'one foot in the Premier League'.
With just three games to go, the Whites are six points ahead of in-form Brentford in third.
Marcelo Bielsa's men did look as though they might slip up against playoff-chasing Swansea on Sunday, but Pablo Hernandez's late goal against his old club ensured Leeds remained on track.
"It was huge," former player Warnock said on Sky Sports. "It was a really big win for them and to get it so late on as well.
"To have that six-point gap with three games remaining.
"They should win the game against Barnsley on Thursday night. It's a derby game, so it will be difficult but they have a foot in the Premier League.
"I do think they will make it now."
Warnock was asked how Leeds should approach the remainder of their games, starting with Yorkshire rivals Barnsley on Thursday.
"It's about belief and about the process that they have been adhering to all season," he replied.
"It's about understanding that what you are doing is right and that it's what has got you to the top of the league.
"They will be nervous, but they have shown in the past couple of weeks that there is a belief.
"I think they will get it done. I think Barnsley will be very nervous going into the game because they know when Leeds turn up, they can steamroll a team.
"They just need to keep playing the way they have all season, that high-energy way.
"They are such a formidable team when they play that way."
